- Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Toru Takemitsu’s Passing: Deep Longing and Lamentation Spun by Guitar and Flute - This album, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Toru Takemitsu's passing, attempts to portray a number of works shedding light on his aspect as a "singing composer" through the intimate elements of guitar and flute. Takemitsu aspired to music after hearing a single chanson at the age of 14, and the title of the piece released at the end of his life was Air, which in English signifies air, wind, and simultaneously, a song. And in any of his complex, avant-garde works, one can hear in every part his feelings for melody—as a line of will that is affirmative of life. (Daisuke Suzuki)
