ソロピアノの為の、配信限定によるシングルリリースに特化したコンセプチュアルなレーベルとして、2020年代に特筆すべき現代クラシカルコンポーザー・ピアニストを紹介／発掘すべく発足した新鋭レーベル「Phono Klavier Limited」。その第一弾リリースとなるアーティストに、日本人作曲家・ピアニストの小瀬村晶をフィーチャーします。 気象学者のエドワード・ローレンツが1972年にアメリカ科学振興協会で行った講演のタイトル"Predictability: Does the Flap of a Butterfly's Wings in Brazil Set Off a Tornado in Texas?"（予測可能性：ブラジルの1匹の蝶の羽ばたきはテキサスで竜巻を引き起こすか？）をタイトルに引用したという楽曲「Flap of a Butterfly's Wings」は、指先に伝わるわずかな力学系の変化の連続性で成立するピアノソロ曲の、その“複雑性”と“予測困難性”を的確に捉えた表現であり、よく形容されがちであるピアノソロ＝“シンプル”という短絡的な位置付けに対するアンチテーゼの意味も込められている。 春先になるとどこからともなく現れ、羽ばたきによる力学系の“複雑性”と“予測困難性”を存分に発揮しては、花の蜜を求め揺らめくように飛ぶ蝶の美しさに魅せられて書かれた、素朴で愛らしいピアノ小品曲です。
