ススム ヨコタ

Discography

Not long after the buzz created by the surprisingly great, recent reissues of 2 sets of double vinyl albums of archive material by Japan's premier electronic music producer, the late Susumu Yokota's alias, 246 from the UK label, Cosmic Soup early this year, Sublime Records is set to digitally release another stunning release. It is a remix of an unreleased mix that Susumu Yokota in his Prism moniker did of a Flare aka Ken Ishii by none other than Matthew Herbert. This unreleased mix by Yokota was done in a similar deep house tinged style of his 246 alias, around the same period of when he was producing many of the 246 tracks. Herbert additionally spiced it up by adding some very interesting, minimal vocal loops. What does this loop of his, "Make It Right" mean exactly? Does he want change something or did he want to "make it right", maybe the world? Anyway, it is clear that Herbert has created a truly great remix and maybe enough for Susumu Yokota to come back to try to top it himself!
